Who
Thomas Dean Design, a comprehensive one-stop design, sign, print, web, and workwear shop based in Lytham St Anne’s, Lancashire, attended the 2025 Printwear & Promotion Show Live as a key strategic initiative. Founded in 2011 with humble beginnings and a £500 disability grant, Thomas Dean Design has evolved into a full-service creative and production hub serving businesses across North West England and beyond.
The company operates from a 40-meter workshop facility with a dedicated team of two, combining the founder’s HND in design and extensive industry experience as a former design manager at Pedigree Wholesale. Our mission—“If you can think it, we can print it”—reflects our commitment to delivering bespoke, personalized solutions tailored to each client’s unique needs. We specialize in graphic design, sign making and installation, printed workwear and uniforms, website design, large-format printing, and a diverse range of promotional materials.
Beyond the flagship Thomas Dean Design brand, we operate several specialist divisions: Panel Print (specialized aluminium composite, Foamex, and Acrylic panel solutions), Sunday Couriers (Sunday-only delivery service), and Tradez (print and design services for tradespeople). This multi-brand approach demonstrates our entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to serving diverse market segments while maintaining quality and expertise across all operations.
What
The primary objective of this business trip was to conduct comprehensive annual industry research essential to maintaining our competitive edge and staying informed on critical market developments shaping the print and promotional products sector. We focused on gathering intelligence on the latest machinery innovations, exploring current product trends within the industry, identifying emerging design aesthetics, and understanding evolving customer preferences that will influence market opportunities.
The show provided an exceptional platform to evaluate cutting-edge equipment and new production capabilities that could enhance our in-house offerings and service quality. Additionally, this visit served as a crucial opportunity to strengthen existing relationships with our current suppliers—particularly Carrick Signs and other established North West England partners—ensuring continued reliability, favourable terms, and priority access to quality materials. Simultaneously, we explored new supplier partnerships aligned with our strategic expansion plans, particularly in emerging product categories and innovative materials that could differentiate our offerings in an increasingly competitive landscape.
This dual approach of nurturing established partnerships while actively seeking fresh opportunities positions us to optimize our supply chain, reduce costs, and access exclusive products that enhance our market positioning.

Why
This attendance represents a strategic investment in Thomas Dean Design’s future business direction and long-term growth strategy. By immersing ourselves in the latest industry developments and emerging design aesthetics, we ensure our service offerings remain relevant, competitive, and aligned with market expectations. Our 2025 primary goal focuses on developing our shop and production facility while expanding our product offerings both in-house and through strategic external partnerships.
This industry research directly supports that objective by identifying new capabilities, equipment investments, and supplier relationships that enable us to scale operations and diversify our service portfolio. Maintaining strong relationships with existing suppliers guarantees continuity and reliability in our supply chain—critical factors for consistent service delivery and profitability. Identifying and evaluating new suppliers in our expansion fields positions us to introduce innovative products and specialized services that set Thomas Dean Design apart in the marketplace. By staying informed on industry trends and emerging aesthetics, we can proactively advise our customers, anticipate market shifts, and position ourselves as industry-leading experts rather than reactive service providers.
