TD Design – Exploring Innovation at The Sign Show & Print Show 2025

Who Attended & Why It Matters

Thomas Dean Design recently attended The Sign Show and The Print Show 2025 at the NEC Birmingham. This wasn’t just a day out—it was a strategic investment in staying ahead of industry trends.

Founded in 2011 with just a £500 disability grant, we’ve grown into Lancashire’s leading one-stop design, sign, print, web, and workwear shop. Our mission is simple: “If you can think it, we can print it.”

We operate from a 40-meter workshop with a team of two, combining HND design qualifications with years of industry experience. Beyond Thomas Dean Design, we run specialist divisions including Panel Print (aluminium composite, Foamex, and Acrylic panels), Sunday Couriers (Sunday delivery services), and Tradez (design services for tradespeople).

What We Discovered at The Sign Show & Print Show

The Sign Show and Print Show 2025 brought together over 5,300 industry professionals. This dual-event format meant we could explore both signage and printing innovations simultaneously.

Our primary focus was clear: evaluate cutting-edge equipment, discover new production capabilities, and identify emerging market opportunities. We examined the latest machinery innovations, current product trends, and emerging design aesthetics that influence customer demand.

The event showcased solutions ranging from wayfinding signage and LED innovations to digital printing technologies and specialty materials. We strengthened relationships with existing suppliers like Carrick Signs while exploring new partnerships aligned with our 2025 expansion plans.

This dual-show approach allowed us to assess developments across both sectors simultaneously. The result? We’re now positioned to offer clients integrated solutions that span design, signage, and print production—all under one roof.

Where The Event Took Place

The Sign Show 2025 and The Print Show 2025 ran together at the NEC (National Exhibition Centre) in Birmingham from September 23rd to 25th, 2025. The NEC is one of the UK’s premier trade show destinations.

Hall 3 provided a world-class environment where leading suppliers showcased the latest innovations available to the sign and print industries. Birmingham’s central location made it accessible for professionals across the UK.

The co-location of both shows created a unique advantage. Industry professionals could explore both sectors within a single venue, maximizing networking and discovery opportunities without traveling to multiple locations.

Why This Investment Matters for Our Business Growth

Attending major industry events is essential for staying competitive. Here’s why this matters: our 2025 goal is to develop our production facility and expand our product offerings both in-house and through strategic partnerships.

Industry research directly supports that objective. We identify new equipment investments, supplier relationships, and capabilities that enable us to scale operations and diversify our service portfolio. This positions us to introduce innovative products and specialized services that set Thomas Dean Design apart.

By staying informed on industry innovations and emerging aesthetics, we can proactively advise our customers and anticipate market shifts. We position ourselves as industry-leading experts rather than reactive service providers. Strong supplier relationships guarantee continuity and reliability in our supply chain—critical for consistent service delivery and profitability.

This research-driven approach directly supports our ambitious growth targets. Our vision? To become the premier one-stop creative and production partner for businesses across North West England and beyond.
